CR Number (Company Registration Number)
The CR number is the unique 7-digit identifier assigned to every company registered with the Hong Kong Companies Registry under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622).
Every company incorporated in Hong Kong — whether a private limited company, a public limited company, a company limited by guarantee, or a non-Hong Kong company registered to do business locally — receives a CR number at the time of its incorporation or registration. The CR number never changes for the lifetime of the company, even if the company changes its name or moves its registered office. Non-Hong Kong companies' CR numbers are typically prefixed with 'F'.
