Company Name Change
A Hong Kong company may change its name by special resolution; the change takes effect when the Companies Registry issues a Certificate of Change of Name.
Changing a company's name does not change its CR number or create a new legal entity — the company and all its rights and obligations continue unchanged. The former name remains part of the company's public record, which is why a search that includes past names can find a company under a name it no longer uses. The company must update its business registration and stationery to reflect the new name.
